At around 8 o’clock Friday morning (March 22nd), the Otter Tail County Sheriff’s Office reported to Big Foot Gas and Grocery in Vining in response to a call about a baggie of an unknown white powder found in the store.

The employees of the store had found the substance that morning and requested a deputy to pick it up.

Big Foot Gas also provided officials with security footage from that night, which showed the suspect dropping the baggie.

Using the footage, officials were able to link the substance, which was determined to be meth, to 56-year-old Kevin Hellerman of Vining, who was found with additional meth on his person.

He was arrested for 3rd degree Drug Possession, and a warrant for a search of his home was issued and executed.

The search led to the detainment of 50-year-old Talitha Mathre of Moorhead, who has since been charged with 5th degree Drug Possession as well as Child Endangerment.
